Scalable nanostructuring of particles with Atomic Layer Deposition

Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) is a new technology that has been successfully commercialized in the semiconductor industry. For catalysis synthesis and particle encapsulation ALD also has a large potential, having unique capabilities in tuning composition and structure. The remaining challenge for industrial acceptance of nanostructured particles is proving cost-effective scalability of production. Delft University of Technology has worked for more than ten years on the fluidized bed ALD technology, resulting in successful upscaling of fluidized bed technology for ALD and in a novel reactor system based on pneumatic transport. Delft IMP was formed to spin-out this technology to industry, where we offer product development services to upscale ALD potentials to your particle products.
